Welcome to your Field Guide to Technology. As part of the Loyola University Maryland Community you have access to a host of software tools that make life and work simpler. Here you’ll find all of the technology tools and services available at our Evergreen, Columbia and Timonium campuses.

Student User Name is set once you’re accepted, and sent to you be mail or email. This username follows you throughout your Loyola career.

Faculty or Staff User Names are set when you are officially hired.  It’s listed in your new hire technology email.

These IDs are usually formatted:

First Initial, Middle Initial, Last Name

Network Passwords help protect your private information from hackers. Every six months you’re prompted to change your password. But you can change at any time.

Here’s how to do it:

  • Click > Self Enroll >  Enter old then new
  • Change your Loyola Password Today is the internal web presence for Loyola. Here is your personalized dashboard with information and links to Loyola resources such as:

  • Moodle courses,
  • employment information,
  • email and calendar,
  • campus services,
  • anywhere applications, and much more.


Students – Web Advisor provides access to your student data. Use it to: register for classes, pay your Loyola accounts, view your schedule, transcripts, financial aid and other important information.

Faculty / Staff –  WebAdvisor provides web-based access to limited HR records such as vacation, sick leave and stipends. Faculty can also view their student advisee and course information and enter midterm and final grades.

Connect to the G:Drive

This is your personal network storage drive. Save documents and files on the Loyola network that is only accessible to you and available whereever you have an internet connection.  You no longer need to worry about losing critical data


This shared network drive is available only to staff and faculty. H:Drive folders are useful for sharing documents between users in a department.


Windows 365 Students Email

Microsoft Office 365 cloud storage gives you access to your student email account. Benefits and features include:

  •     Inbox storage space 25 GB
  •     Spam filtering and malware protection

Access email using Microsoft Outlook on your Loyola-owned computers or through webmail.

To get email on your iPhone or iPad go to:

  • Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calandar
  • Select Exchange > Account
  • Enter your email address >  Server:
  • Enter your username and password

HoundNet Wi-Fi provides an encrypted Internet connection for students which requires a Loyola username and password for authentication.

eHoundNet-FSA  WiFi is the enterprise network for faculty, staff and administrators which also requires authentication (Loyola ID/password).

Houndnet_Guest enables campus visitors to connect to the Internet.

Loyola is now part of the EduRoam network. It allows traveling students, faculty and staff to use any member institution’s secure WiFi networks by logging in with their home institution’s credentials. See who else is connected: Get EduRoam details
